The Airfree P1000 has a heated ceramic core that silently draws in irritant-laden air and destroys the airborne particles and organisms at a temperature of more than 400°. This air purifier also eliminates the bad odors caused by smoke and garbage and reduces ozone levels. The P1000 uses a mere 45 watts of power and operates in a whisper quiet fashion. The only noticeable thing about this air purifier, other than the incredibly sleek design, is the high quality and breathability of the air around you.

| | The first one I got 5 years ago still works! This is an air SANITIZER, not a purifier nor a filter. If you have dust, you'll need something to take care of that. But if you have a room w/ bad smells that you can't destroy, mustiness, mildew, then this will work! I have 3 of these in my old, musty, tropical home. Am about to get 2 more (found them on sale here for $169! Best price I could find!) I've never had any problems with them.
Pro's
completely silent (no fan)
uses very little electricity
destroys musty odors, mildew, germs, etc.
blue light is adjustable (can turn it off, or dim it)
the heat coming out the top will warm your toes if you put it in front of your ottoman!
Con's:
- have to wait 7-10 days to sanitize the air in the room
- must leave it on
- can't put it under a shelf
- doesn't clean the dust, etc.
- there must be natural air flow in the room (no fan on the unit.)
Just be patient, read the manual, and let it do it's thing. But leave it on, especially if you need it in the bedroom.
In my living room is an area that once had a leak in the roof (previous owner.) That corner was terribly musty, and I could never breathe there. We removed the carpet, the false ceiling, steam-sanitized everything, sprayed the furniture w/ anti-allergen sprays, vacuumed, dehumidified, etc. These things helped, but that musty smell was still there. We took the AirFree out of the bedroom and put it in that corner of the living room. A week or so later, the smell went away. Meanwhile, my bedroom is now uninhabitable! :-( It took me weeks to figure out why...I'd gotten so used to having it work in the bedroom...because it's SILENT. Which is why I'm ordering 2 more...I'm gonna try one in a really bad, musty space downstairs. Will update later.
